There were many federal hearings in 2007/2008 related to making significant tax law changes. I have a list of most of these hearings held in Congress - click here. Treasury also held a conference on "Business Taxation and Global Competitiveness" and released a report in 12/07 on corporate/international tax reform options (click here for links). What will happen to all of this good work in th 111th Congress and with a new president? And new issues like financial bailouts and growing deficits?
I tried to summarize some of what happened in various areas including international tax reform and energy taxation and the outlook for what might happen next year. See Legislative Leftovers (AICPA Corporate Taxation Insider, 10/23/08).
What do you think may happen next year on the tax agenda? What do you think should happen?
